My view of the exhibition of Mária Čobejová

On Wednesday 17th March we went to the gallery of the central Slovakia to see an exhibition of the Slovak  artist Mária Čobejová. It was like an excursion from the subject Art and Culture. We wanted to see her art and look deeper into the meaning of it.

The exhibition was called 'Talks which lead somewhere else' (in Slovak: 'Rozhovory, ktoré vedú inam') and it was focused on different problems of this planet. Mostly the global problems of the civilization of West Europe. It was also joined with some critics.  She also called another authors to draw something like a reaction on her drawings.

My personal opinion about that was really good. I enjoy any art because it is always expressing of someone who knows what the art is and each one of artists has her/his own language of saying things. Sometimes I agree more with it and sometimes less. In this case my feelings are mixed and I do not really know what to think about it. I think it was probably because I just didn't find myself in it and also, most of the pictures had more meanings, nobody really could really said. Otherwise, I found it very interesting to see this kind of art. Personally my favourite were the pictures of the boat cause it could seriously told me something really deep and meaningful and the portrait of the author was just brilliant.

I also enjoyed the activity on the end because I could used my own fantasy. I enjoyed doing team work with one of my best friends, too! We are kind of similar personalities so we had an alike way to say things. We chose the picture of Coliseum. At first it took my attention because I have been there and at second because the fallen balloon inside of it. Immediately it reminded me of the gloom and I wanted to blow a little bit of hope, faith and love into it.
So we two drew another balloons what were flying through the Coliseum on the sky. It was symbolization of hope that never is too late and if something has failed for the first time it doesn't mean that it will fail for another one. On the right corner we drew some birds in different distances which symbolisated future, past and present. We put them into the sunbeams which were writing into that balloons words of things what we cannot see like the love, faith or those what are parts of our normal life like chairs, food. I also included my poem what I wrote during the „free creative time“. It was my own expressing though the words.
We both liked what we made cause we put there something from us.

I think it was great that we went there cause I learnt something new & had another positive experience.
